The preparations for Inside R Praggnanandhaa’s Candidates involve preparing for the openings, full-day training, and practicing beach volleyball.

The upcoming Candidates chess tournament in India will feature R Praggnanandhaa, 18, and R Vaishali, 22, who will become the first siblings to play against 64 squares.

The most significant advantage in sports is having a sibling who can play at the same elite level. Due to the non-compliance of that equation in chess, the siblings have been training separately as they work towards the most challenging challenge of their careers.

Our attention has been primarily directed towards the gaps that may arise for the Candidates. According to Ramesh, they tend to concentrate on other aspects in addition to other tournaments, but this year, we’re concentrating on openings.

“He’s a self-reliant and selfless child.” His current outlook is one of being confident that he can reach the top, which was always his aspiration. From my childhood, I had faith in him without any doubts. From a young age, his aspiration to become eminent world champion was unwavering. It wasn’t just that he had that dream, but also the responsibility of pursuing it. There was some uncertainty about the jump he made in his career, but it turned out to be premature when a player started playing against 2700-rated GMs regularly. Nonetheless, he managed to handle it with great skill. That stage must have given him the assurance that he is in good hands. I’m proud of him for having made such a significant progress, but not his best performance yet. Ramesh believes that there is still time for the best.
